The International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC) supported the inaugural Nuclear Futures: Shaping Nuclear Dialogue in a Changing World, co-hosted by the University of New South Wales and the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency on 5-6 August 2025 in Sydney, Australia.
The two-day event highlighted the critical link between education, workforce development, and the future of nuclear technologies. As the global community accelerates toward energy security, building a skilled, diverse, and adaptable nuclear workforce is essential.
The event brought together international experts, early-career professionals, educators, and industry leaders to explore opportunities in training, career pathways, and global collaboration, ensuring that nuclear energy continues to play a role in the clean energy transition.

As IFNEC Chair, Aleshia Duncan was delighted to participate in a fireside chat on meeting the world’s growing energy demand and delivered a keynote address on IFNEC’s contribution to international cooperation. She also gave a presentation on career opportunities in the nuclear sector, followed by an interactive Q&A session that offered guidance, mentorship, and inspiration for the next generation of nuclear professionals.
